Introduction
Polyline seek to make a tubular lining which can be folded in such a way that it can be pulled through an existing pipe. The pulling is to be done by a hollow flexible dart propelled by air.
Once pulled through the length of the pipe, the lining is secured around the circumference of the pipe at each end so that water no longer comes into contact with the pipe at any point. The pipe however provides support so that the lining is not subjected to the full effects of the applied water pressure. The lining must therefore ideally be just undersized. The lining’s wall thickness can then be very much less than the wall thickness of a pipe in the same material made to withstand the applied water pressure. This is crucial to the success of the project since folding will not be possible if the lining is too thick.
